This week, Freddy Prinze Charming and I continue to celebrate Pride Month with a sold-out crowd at the Drink Me! Tea Room for the Pride Month Edition of Drag Bingo.
The crowd did not disappoint! The crowd in Tempe had the energy on high from the time we started until it was done.
We had some folks who thought they won the round and yelled out bingo just because they were excited.
We had some folks who actually won and got prizes, even those created by Miss Michelle of Drag Story Hour Arizona.
We also celebrated the birthdays of Cosmo and Andrea. I enlisted the “horrible singing choir” to give them a birthday tribute. Even though Freddy and I ate the cake. (Isn’t that how it is supposed to happen?)
It was a great night that included someone who had been a part of the Stonewall Riots, and at 80 years old, she is encouraging and inspiring the next generation.
Pride Month is more than just rainbows and brands putting rainbows on things. It is a reminder that community is important. And we appreciate the crowd this week. It is a great example of people coming together to celebrate, connect — and have a little fun.
