I had a great time kicking off Black Children’s Book Week by joining forces with Drag Story Hour. I read “I Wish I Were a Unicorn” by author A.K. Neer. I also had a great time talking with A.K. Neer about the book, representation, and more. The story hour was also a great way to kick off the start of the Drag Story Hour YouTube channel.

Black Children’s Book Week is a global celebration of Black children and the people who ensure Black children are represented in books and other children’s media.

The book was sent to me by A.K. Neer. I wish I did an unboxing because it was wrapped with care to make sure that it got here with love and care. And indeed it did. I read the book and then soon later got to talk with A.K. about the thoughts behind this book, some little nuggets about the book (or exclusive author notes), and more.

You can get your copy of “I Wish I Were a Unicorn” by A.K. Neer by going to the Hark Press Books website or on BookShop.org.
