Today felt like a new day, a relief. Tonight we got to talk with Joan Bish of By Bish about the inauguration, the mental health and of course her handcrafted jewelry.

We talked about the way today felt and how we felt that a weight had been lifted off of our shoulders, a tumor from our gut. It was great to breathe a sigh of relief. But, what are we doing to take care of our mental health. It’s okay not to be okay — not everyone is expected to act like everything is happy and sunshine. Also, now is a good time to check in with your circle of friends and family to see how they are doing. It’s the simple things like a quick text to check in on them.

It’s amazing what a difference a day makes. We got into the different bits of the inauguration. We stopped for a minute to talk about how the Obamas still live in our hearts and how amazing Michelle Obama looked. Amazing! We couldn’t stop talking about Amanda Gorman’s poem, “The Hill We Climb.”

We were excited to also talk about Pres. Biden signing the executive order to protect LGBTQ+ individuals from discrimination in the workplace. This was something that Obama put in place during his administration that Agent Orange decided to undo. First step of so many, in what I feel is the right direction. I ranted a bit.

Then we got to talk with Joan Bish of By Bish who has been a friend and supporter for about four years. We learned about how she fell in love with rockhounding all over again after being away from it for a bit. We learned about how she got into crafting the jewelry. It’s SO beautiful! She is so gracious and kind to offer to do the Let’s Have A Fefe Jewelry Auction with her handcrafted jewelry this Thursday and Friday. SO grateful! SO thankful! Be sure to check out the auction!
