I had a great time co-hosting or being one of the ring leaders of the La Gattara Bazaar at the La Gattara Cat Lounge in Tempe. It was great seeing everyone! Big shout out to the fellow entertainers like Julius -- the YoYo world champion, Azza the belly dancer, Ann Marie -- the animal medium and Lee Bartlett for a comedy piece. The biggest stars were the cats. This was all for them!

Drag Queen Story Hour (DQSH) is just what it sounds like—drag performers reading stories to children in libraries, schools, and bookstores. DQSH captures the imagination and play of the gender fluidity of childhood and gives kids glamorous, positive, and unabashedly queer role models. In spaces like this, kids are able to see people who defy rigid gender restrictions and imagine a world where people can present as they wish, where dress up is real.

We got to know JoAnn as she let us follow her on her journey on how she discovered that she wanted to do drag along with having a background in theater --- very next level. Ha ha!

With Freddy out, my sis Patricia Mason, Miss Gay Metropolis America, stepped in as guest host as we got to talk with Seliah DeLeon, Miss Duke City Goddess and Miss New Mexico Pride. We talked about HIV, HIV prevention and such as do with her day job. Then at night, when the spotlight comes on, Seliah is busy with the gigs and titles and things. Even in the drags, Seliah is advocate for the community and uses her platform to advocate and educate.

We talked about how to talk with a person you might be interested in and some things not to do when you're interested in them. Then we got to learn more about Kalil's journey to Mr. Continental, the evolution of pageantry, his journey as an entertainer and as a promoter. Great talk! Lots of laughs!
