It’s taken me a long time to be proud or who I am. For a long time, I felt ashamed of who I was and was told that it was wrong. But I have learned to ignore those voices, those toxic stares and learn to live my life more authentically as the person I chose to be — me.

For those reading this who haven’t been living their most authentic life — this post is for you. Love yourself! Be proud of who you are! Don’t be afraid of learning more about yourself and others.

50 years ago, LGBTQ siblings fought and protested at Stonewall for us to live our most authentic lives. It seems like such an easy liberty, a privilege to walk in freedom. But if it weren’t for them, we wouldn’t be here.

Let’s keep on keeping on, the fight for our rights and freedoms is not over.
